Winter pickups

Top is a 1853 model Enfield Type III, made in Birmingham England with lock dated 1862. Bottom is sort of a model 1854 Lorenz. Very early model, lock started as a pill lock, but was modified to percussion with the addition of a pistol hammer, and the extra lock holes period filled in, and lock reshaped. Very fortunate that Andy Adams had a hammer in his parts drawer, since the usual Lorenz hammers did not come close, even by hand fit standards. The Lorenz is a contract made by Ferd. Fruwirth, and has been bored out to a .58 cal shotgun.

"Artillery" model 31" barrel  2 band Norris and Clement complete. Subject to SAC inspection in the Spring. Final weight 7.6 lbs (a bit more than I hoped), but still a pound less and 9" shorter than a 3 bander.
